A woman dubbed the ‘Karen of Brighton’ says backlash to her rant about being bored in lockdown has ‘made her weekend’.
Jodi Grollo, the daughter of pokies baron Bruce Mathieson, complained she was sick of walking in the same streets after Melburnians were urged to exercise locally.
‘Well, you get sick of walking the same streets.
You know, I’ve done all of Brighton,’ she told Nine News this week while walking the city’s Tan track.

Victorian Premier Dan Andrews hit back with a thinly-veiled message to ‘some of those featured on social media’ unhappy with the lockdown.
‘Whether you are in Broadmeadows or Brighton, stay at home means stay at home,’ he said on Saturday.
‘And if walking your local streets is boring, well, being bored is much better than being in intensive care.
That’s my clear message.’
Ms Grollo said she was not bothered by Mr Andrews’ rebuke, or the hundreds of angry comments online, and hadn’t seen them anyway.
‘I’m not on social media so I didn’t see any [of the backlash].
To be honest, I found it funny – it made my weekend,’ she told the .
‘I’m providing people with some light entertainment to get them through the Dan-demic.’

Ms Grollo did get some backup from her local MP James Newbury, who called Mr Andrews a ‘creep’ and used the furore to score political points.
‘He has taken a nasty swing at Brighton — another example of the Premier attacking Victorians,’ he wrote on Twitter.
Melbourne’s metropolitan areas and the Mitchell Shire has been locked down since June 8, with residents only able to leave their homes for exercise, food, work or study, and medical care.
There are several conditions attached to the exemption to exercise.
Residents are allowed to engage in activities such as walking, running, hiking and surfing, and only if they are within the locked down areas.
‘Day trips are not on… a day trip is not the same as daily exercise,’ Mr Daniels said.
